Stacy has been cooking since before she can remember. It all started with her parents teaching her the basics in her childhood home. Her first job, at the age of 14, was at a local family run store where she first learned to make pizza. Years later she learned the trade of wood fired baking from her best friend's dad. Ever since then she was hooked and has made virtually anything you can think of in a wood fired oven over the past decade from fried green tomatoes to egg rolls. Her passion is to inspire others to experiment with cooking. That is why you will find out of the ordinary pizzas at her mobile pizza trailer and a constant evolution of unique flavor combinations.
Our pizza trailer is inspected by the dept. of health and we are fully insured. Steel House Oven is available for private events such as weddings, rehearsal dinners, receptions, family reunions, birthday parties, festivals, and more. We can operate remotely without power for 1 day events with the use of our 2 quiet portable generators.
We make the majority of our sauces in house and source our fresh ingredients from local farmers and small family run businesses whenever possible. Steel House Oven also maintains their own organic garden for some of their veggie toppings. We use the highest-quality mozzarella blend made from buffalo milk and cows milk. Its superior taste is creamier, softer, and far more flavorful than just cow's milk mozzarella. Try us and taste the difference!
Some examples of the local businesses we source our ingredients from include;
Emery's Meat- Gardiner
Chadwick's Craft Spirits Whiskey- Pittston
Sparrow Farm- Pittston
Tender Soles Farm- Richmond
County Fair Farm- Jefferson
Sheepscot General- Whitefield
The Dough Co.- Auburn

We will come to your event with our pizza trailer and prepare fresh hand tossed New York style pizza in our stainless steel wood fired ovens. Our pizzas are served buffet style usually over the course of 1-2 hours so your guests can mingle and no one feels rushed to eat. The serving window varies for each booking and can be tailored to suite your needs. As pizza disappears we replenish them one at a time for freshness. We can provide runners to clear dishes and and trash from your tables at a rate of $175.00 per runner. We provide disposable plates, napkins, and plastic silverware for those events that are not using glassware.
Steel House Oven was created from a 16x7 foot trailer that was a Craigslist find. It has been completely re-purposed. Steel House Oven can run off of electricity from just one household outlet or our own quiet generators making us the perfect option for events with limited power sources. Our stainless steel wood fired oven rolls out on a custom built slide giving us the ultimate compact method of transportation. We also bring in an additional oven for events requiring a larger volume of pizza. We require about 30x20 feet of space plus room for our truck to drop the trailer when we come loaded with 2 ovens. **We now have a 3rd mini oven to speed up our pizza service for larger groups.
While we serve hundreds of people at large festivals and events from our food truck (trailer), when we are booked for a private party such as a weddings, reunions, or rehearsal dinners we are best suited to serve up to 130 people. This is to ensure that we can keep up with the pizza buffet table and that there is limited wait time, if any, while we are replenishing pizza as it's eaten.
